Around Amarillo
Susan Hester will be our host in and around Amarillo TX. She is scouting several photo opportunities and is getting ready for us to eat dinner at the Big Texan - "the food is good and the night crowd is totally different and kind of fun" (it will be for sure if we are there!). She tells me there are several restored gas stations, like the ones pictured below, for us to see and take pictures at.

I'll be making another pre-run this weekend out to the west. I'll be checking up on another restored gas station and finding the geographical mid-point of route 66. Definitely bring your camera!
Chris and I have driven the Route once before and the midpoint is in Adrian, TX. The is a cafe there called the Midpoint Cafe. It is owned by a wonderful lady named Fran. They have the best pies!!!!
Ah yes there is nothing like the nostalgia of "the old road". I grew up with gas stations that looked very similar and my car is fashioned after the 50-60's era so should fit right in! Great job Susan.
